On Friday, President Trump issued an executive order barring immigrants from seven largely Muslim countries from entering the United States. This order targeted refugees already cleared for resettlement, anyone with a valid visa, and individuals who had green cards. The ban affects many LGBTQ people and families, including Immigration Equality’s clients.

When we read about Mr. Trump’s sweeping, unconstitutional directives, Immigration Equality’s staff and Board moved to protect our community. Following a decision by a federal judge in New York staying part of the order on Saturday, we filed a motion for declaratory judgement and for injunctive relief to ensure that members of our community in danger would be covered by the court’s decision.

We will not stop fighting for our community. You can help!

The Administration’s cruel and reckless attack on immigrants is a gross violation of due process. It also substantially undermines our international reputation to uphold and protect basic human rights. We will not allow that to happen!

The fight ahead is a long one, but we are ready. Join us!
