Matthew is an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow. He provides direct representation to LGBTQ and HIV-positive clients in immigration proceedings and in filing affirmative applications for immigration status.
Matthew attended law school to become an advocate for immigrant communities, receiving his J.D. from the University of Arizona. As a law student, Matthew provided legal services to detained noncitizens with the Florence Project, represented a long-time U.S. resident in removal proceedings through the University of Arizona Immigration Law Clinic, and assisted immigrants facing deportation because of prior criminal convictions as an extern at the Bronx Defenders Immigration Practice. Matthew is a fluent Spanish speaker.
