Joel Perez-Romano

Joel is an Asylum Paralegal at Immigration Equality.

He is a Hunter College graduate who majored in Political Science with a double minor in Arabic and Human Rights. At Hunter, Joel advocated for, and fostered an LGBTQ community at their Hillel foundation. Prior to joining our team, he spent two years at The Scalabrini Center for Migrant Families where he helped support their legal team, coordinated adult English courses, and oversaw their weekly tutoring program. Joel is a Brooklyn native born to immigrants from the Dominican Republic. He is a native Spanish speaker.
