Alan Flippen

Board Treasurer

Alan Flippen is Assistant Vice President of Publications and Communications for the Mount Sinai Health System, a position he accepted in 2015 after a 29-year career in journalism with The New York Times and The Associated Press. Alan received his undergraduate education at Princeton University and holds master’s degrees in journalism and business administration from Columbia. He was a cofounder of the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association’s New York chapter and served as a board member and national treasurer of NLGJA. Alan lives in New York City with his husband, Joey Juan, a native of the Philippines.
