Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHoBiT). This is a day to celebrate our community, and to fight against misinformation and hate. The best way to counter fear and ignorance is through conversation and dialogue. The more we share our stories and experiences, the more the world will come to welcome and support us. So on this IDAHoBiT, please share your favorite LGBTQ New Americans Project video on social media!
You can watch the LGBTQ New Americans Project videos here.
Through extended conversation, the Project records the unique experiences of LGBTQ immigrants from around the world in their own words. Topics and themes include experiences in a person’s country of origin, family life, career, love, sexuality, gender identity, race, the immigration experience, and much more.
Share an LGBTQ New Americans video in honor of IDAHOT.
Help us educate the public about who queer immigrants are. Every day is an opportunity to create a new ally. Stay tuned for more LGBTQ New Americans videos later this year!
