It gives me great pleasure to announce the law firms that Immigration Equality will honor at this year’s Safe Haven Awards gala. The event itself—a recap of our year’s work, a chance to share our clients’ incredible stories, and an opportunity for our supporters to celebrate one another—will take place on May 21 on the beautiful premises of the New-York Historical Society.
If you haven’t yet done so, I hope you’ll consider buying your tickets today. Our special early bird rate is available through March 15.
Over this past year, our Pro Bono Network has more than doubled in size to include 89 firms (comprising 127 offices), as well as numerous volunteer attorneys and solo practitioners. Together, these institutions and individuals donated $17.8 million in legal services in 2014 to those seeking safety from persecution on account of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status. And their services were of the highest caliber: I’m proud to report that our success rate remains a striking 98%!
Three firms, however, went above and beyond to help give our indigent LGBT clients a safe place to call home. Our 2015 pro bono winners are:
- Dechert LLP
- Hogan Lovells US LLP
- Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP
I hope you’ll join us in honoring their commitment and their contributions when we gather on May 21. Purchase your Safe Haven tickets today!
