Donrodge came to Immigration Equality after experiencing a lifetime of violence and persecution in Jamaica. Watch sample footage of his story, which will be featured in the upcoming documentary, SEEKING REFUGE, by Tina DiFeliciantonio and Jane C. Wagner.

My name is Donrodge. I am a gay man from Jamaica.

I found Immigration Equality in 2014, and Aaron helped me secure asylum. I’ve recently moved into my own apartment and I’m studying to get into nursing school. This year, Immigration Equality is helping me to apply for my green card. I am happy and safe and I want to be an advocate for others who are fighting for the freedom to live openly like me.

It is important for me to share my story. Even though it was sometimes hard, I agreed to do so in a documentary film coming out soon.

Because of your support, I have a bright future ahead of me and I am eternally grateful!
